It is a large project and I needed to make some decisions: Color, pattern, how much variety?

I wrote this pattern, Sheaves, and have posted the start of this project before.  But it has taken on a life of its own!

I decided on the pattern since it uses varied numbers of each color and looks interesting when the values and colors are switched.  I can emphasize any aspect of the design.

I am choosing neutrals and colors that are complimentary on the color wheel to make them pop. Basically an accent from across the color wheel,  examples are blue/orange, violet/yellow, red/green. Using a variety of these like turquoise, or spice changes the mood.

The neutrals are fun, since I can mix and match them,  or alternate, like White and Winter white,  Flax and Ochre...more fun!

So, every evening,  I have set a goal of weaving 5 or more a day if I feel fresh. Those that used similar base neutrals are stacked together to show me she I could use more darker,  color or warmer versions.

The discipline of staying with the formula and pattern has forced me to look at new color combinations that I may not have otherwise "seen."

I highly recommend making a set of similar weaves with a color formula like this.  See how far you can stretch it!

Before my evening weave,  I make dinner,  a girl needs her energy! With the hot days, lately, I decided to go for a cool meal.  This recipe is perfect! I usually have most of the ingredients, sometimes I add cashews or other nuts before serving... you can make it spicy or not and it is a great make ahead picnic food, also!

Here's the recipe,  I love "Once Upon a Chef" and her tips, the chicken poaching on this one is a great one! I poach in chicken broth and freeze it afterwards to use in soups or stir fry...
