A weekend treat at our house is a German Apple Pancake, or "Dutch Baby."
My collection of cast iron skillets come in handy for this easy bake. They heat with the oven, the butter melts at the same time and the hot pan encourages a great puffy rise!
I have been playing with variations of recipes for years, and this is what my "go-to" recipe looks like: literally!
Because I don't use sugar in the batter, it can easily be adapted as a savory dish.
Think spinach and feta, ham and cheese, bacon and fig...look at quiche or omelet type fillings, saute and fill out if the oven or during the final 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
While things are baking or during morning coffee, I am busy catching up on news, or working on projects.
I have 2 big projects in the works right now. My knit ganset pullover (see project info if you are interested in knitting an historic sweater style!
The second is a weaving project for my niece's bridal shower. I will share progress on the 70 custom potholders next week! Busy times!!!
Sneak peek:
Here is the big knitting project! My Cordova Gansey!

I am really enjoying this! The yarn is amazing and the pattern can be customized or knit from the instructions as is. The Facebook page is immensely helpful!
My little fish and monogram are on, just a bit of blocking will show them off better in the end.
I picked up a great tip, if you are knitting purl patterns on a knit background, purl through the back of the loop to make them stand out more! Next time, in the monogram, I will take this advice! 😉
Have a great week! Start something, finish something, share something, it is all good!
