Summertime! It is not over...

The days are shorter, my school schedule is ramping up. But it is still summer! And I am hanging on to the sun and the feeling of freedom!

The first sign of the season is the massive sunflower show,  on roadsides and in yards!

In my fiber world, I have begun the Gansey sweater and am getting to the pattern area. This,  after what seems like miles of plain knitting at the bottom of the sweater.  It is knit in the round,  so the back is being done simultaneously with the front.  Double the fun! I haven't completely decided on the design for the upper chest area,  but am writing it out as I go. I love the pattern that is my foundation,  but may swap out some of the pattern designs. I will share those as they emerge!

The shower weaves for my niece,  are practically done! 66 unique colorways so far! I ran out of neutral colors,  making me wait on the last couple.  I am doing a few extra to be sure that I like the set as a whole.

Extra weaves are bonus for me,  since I will be getting more ready for holiday sales and galleries. It is always good to have a stay prepared!

Back to summer.  Sunshine and strawberries is so summer-like, and it is time to make my favorite strawberry frozen yogurt! It is so fresh,  so strawberry fresh!!! This recipe uses few ingredients and is really easy.  Tart Greekyogurt is my fave so it's not too sweet, but any full fat yogurt would work.

There's a tablespoon of vodka, or any alcohol or even vanilla would work.  It doesn't change the flavor,  but helps keep it from freezing too hard. I think it's best eaten after it freezes up the same day.  But there are only 2 of us so the excess goes in popsicle forms to make it an easy serve the next day!

Here's the recipe!

Oh yes! Good news! I finally have figured out how to use my antique circular sock knitter! Heels and toes and technical issues have caused me stop and start this project, but progress feels good!

I guess, in a way,  I am accepting the end of summer and looking to embrace autumn.
What is on your horizon?

Embrace the rest of your summer days!
